Last weekend, we (me and my wife) happened to go to one of the malls in Bangalore. We visited a hair saloon for a hair cut which had very well done interiors and good ambience. The hair-cut took about an hour and at the end of it we paid 500 rupees (yep, for one hair cut). I am one of the guys who go to neighborhood saloon and get his cut done for 25 rupees with head/back massage thrown in for another 20 (so 500 will be like 12 hair cuts with massage).

Most of the people we saw there looked regular middle class and was surprised that so many people visited this place irrespective of high charges. We went there to check out the place (we liked it but 500 was little high..may be 200 would have been good). I was wondering what made people go for 500 rs hair cut (apart from curiosity factor which bugged us :-)
